The Ship of Lies and the White Devil (嘘と白魔の海賊船, Uso to Hakuma to Kaizokusen^?) is the fifth episode of the third season of the Kaitou Joker anime. It is the thirty-first episode of the overall series. It was first broadcasted on May 2, 2016.

Summary

Today's treasure is the "Star of Thor" hidden within a legendary pirate ship that sunk in the depths of the Caribbean Sea. While Joker looks for the treasure, Hachi and Hosshii get kidnapped. Joker clashes with a new rival, a pirate who is the grandson of the captain who owned the lost treasure. However, the pirate is not as hearty as he looks. Things take another unexpected turn when a giant squid attacks and Akai Tsubasa appears, searching for the same treasure.

• Captain Blue and the Blue Pirates are introduced.
• The Star of Thor ends up eaten by Hosshii, only to hatch a Guidance Stone.
• Phoenix steals the stone at the last minute, marking his first victory against Joker.

Tricks Introduced

• Joker takes uses the heat geysers in the ocean to resurface the sunk ship with the treasure on it.
• Captain Blue makes a trail of gunpowder and creates a spark by colliding with Phoenix's bow. This causes the ship to explode.

Trivia

• Devil Fang also places a bounty on Hachi, which was in Joker's bounty poster but it is only worth 8 dollars.
• This episode marks the only time that Joker ever fights with Phoenix in combat.
• Hachi ends up cooking and serving the White Devil.
