Journey into the Shining Night (輝く夜への旅立ち, Kagayaku Yoru e no Tabidachi^?) is the fifth episode of the first season of the Kaitou Joker anime. It was first broadcasted on November 10, 2014.

Summary

While cleaning Joker's room, Hachi discovers a key that belonged to Joker's father. The episode then flashbacks to Joker's childhood and reveals how his fate as a phantom thief began.

Tricks Introduced

• Silver Heart creates a electromagnet using Christmas lights and electricity. This breaks the treasure and temporarily traps Clover and Doubt.

Trivia

• Joker's stubbornness in wanting to train under Silver Heart is very similar to Hachi's stubbornness with wanting to become Joker's apprentice.
• Even before training under Silver Heart, Joker was a smart child and was also already gutsy.
• The words that Joker told Hachi in episode one are the same ones said by Silver Heart to young Jack.
